anybody have a solar array on their van?

ok, probably a silly question. but here is MY plan.

I plan to rig some sort of roof rack to hold three 15w pv panels. what I need to solve would be best location to make penetration for the wires to enter. I'm guessing notching the drip rail and then tucking back up underneath, small hole and run down the inside wall.

I plan to have a 12v battery or two mounted near the rear along with a big inverter, and maybe a second stereo/lcd display as well.

For years I've had these small ones on the dash. I don't think they do a whole lot but keep the battery charged. I can leave a van parked for 6 months and the battery is ready to go for the long cranking to get gas going again. For anyone else thinking of doing it I would recomend leaving the plug end on because there is a fuse built into them.
