In a Chevy you can use Sunbird or Grand Am seats. They fit pretty well and around here, I can find a mint pair for $30 each. My brother had my spare pair sitting in his 63 Galaxie and liked them so much he asked me to see if I could locate a pair for him and thats when I found 3 sets at a local Pickapart, or Parts Galore as they are called here.. The issue is that when I installed mine, I had access to a Celebrity with a bench seat and needed the brackets off the bench seat to complete the brackets. Between the Sunbird/Grand Am brackets, I was able to fabricate the brackets and got the seats to sit as low as possible. I'm 6'2" and feel they're sitting pretty sweet with plenty of headroom. I have a few pics of the bracketry, I'll try to add them to this post later.

Take a look at Jeep seats. JC Whitney carries some that may work. Be sure to read the reviews.

I have installed a set of cloth high back seats out of 1984 GMC S-15 Blazer. The width is nice and doesn't get in the way of the doghouse lid. I think the Blazer seat rails were used also. In the past I found Chevette seats worked OK. Try finding a Chevette today.

I used S10 Blazer seats, had to build part of my base. They sit a little too high for me, but the width is fine.

Ford Aerostar seats in my 64 Chevy 90. Front are tight and I will likely swap them out this winter with Fiero buckets. Rear are also Aerostar removeable bench seats. I can swap from seating 2,4,5,7 or 8 in a matter of minutes.

    Later,
    Rip
