i was cruising rockauto.com and found a listing in thier setup for wheel bearings for 1969 G20 van that used disc front brakes.

is this true? where can i get a set of OEM spindles and hardware! =)

I have never seen disk brakes on a solid I beam axle and Chevy used it until 1971,,,,,when they went to coil springs and upper and lower control arms.

i would have to say it's a listing error
and believe you'll find the kit they may be offering is for a 71 and up as Doni said
    -
    -
we have the only PROVEN disk brake conversion kits that are out here
    for 64-70 G-10's
(g-20's however i did hear there is a truck application that will bolt to those
    6 lug spindles )
3 sets remaining of ours if your interested and have a G-10 send me a message soon

    64-70 G20's had six-lug axles? Interesting.

The largest brakes on an A-100 were 11x2.75 on the front and 10x2.5 on the back. I have added 11x2.5 on the rears of A-vans using C-body Mopar car (Monaco, Newport, etc) parts.

There see? I gummed up the Chevy section with Dodge information. Smile

It doesn't matter where the parts or information comes from, if its going to help make our vans better. (The Drum brakes on a 1st Gen Chevy are 9 1/2" X 2" in back,,,,,2 1/2" in front)

    Gman,

I'm looking for a front drum for my 69 G20, is there an interchange? I haven't looked yet, thought you might know though.

    Thanks,

I have to believe GM didn't make that drum just for the G20 van. I would take the drum to the auto parts store & compare it to a 3/4 ton pickup. Bet there the same.

Raybestos #2058, used on various models from 1951-1971. I might actually have one here

I don't think the drums for a 70 - 71 G20 are for our vans, 71 being the clue and the 3rd gens started in 70. About 8 years ago they were hard to find and I had to go to NAPA and special order them for $100 each. If some one knows for sure of a cheaper replacement it would be nice to know. I was able to order some ceramic type shoes. I might be able to fine the info on them if some one is interested.
When the the G20's brakes are in good shape I don't see the need for disc. If your passenger doesn't want to buckle up you can easily make them kiss the windshield. Laughing

Pics are a few years old, need to climb up there and take some new ones. You are right, we did scrap/sell about 40 vehicles since these were taken. Did save the best ones (except for the Jeep FC170's) Sad

Carl, RockAuto listed those for about $100 each. They do not list a front drum for the 67-69 vans. I'll compare with another on the list that we have in the yard and let you know.

Saved all vans, deliveries, wagons, MG's, the Fiat and all trucks pre-1956. Kept 3 vw bugs (sold 9). Not a Hearse, just the angle of the pic, look at the other pic you will see just an ugly old Plymouth. Pacers and most Dauphines are gone. All shoebox sedans are still here as well as the 39 and 40 Chevy sedans.
More projects than we can complete in our lifetimes! When Dad realizes his capabilities or lack thereof some really nice projects will hit the market. He just doesn't have enough good days to spend in the shop. Getting old and disabled really sucks! Did anyone notice the mood swing halfway through my post? It's been a long week...

Tom, it's a Chrysler Town & Country. It'e been painted but the interior is original but in bad shape.
We did get some bad weather, thousands without power, we were unaffected here though. Twenty miles north there is no electricity. Sunny and 60* today!
