New Logo is AWESOME!!!

The artwork was drew with the two chevy's on each end , I think to change it , it would have to be totally redone. It is what it is

I never noticed the license plates before but it would look better without them. So now I think I like the design with the new background but minus the license plates and using the same font just enlarge the AGE to the size of the V and I think its a winner. Couldnt hurt to be brand neutral or change one Chev to a GMC. Being a Corvan owner Im not offended that one isnt shown. They have their own site already and participation here has really lacked over the years,plus we do include them and others in a seperate category so they arent left out. But in reality this site has mainly focused on the A,G,and E's.
On a side note, I ve always thought it might be cool to do a sepearte t shirt of vanups including VW's and Corvairs.

Man... the logo color sure looks GOOD! The orange background sure make the vans stand out. Yeah, I think the neutral-brand option is best... well, a lot of us here as vanners already can tell which is which Going that route will actually act as a bait for the non-vanners, the people outside there to come up to you and ask you "where does this van come from what factory?" Draw them to inject a little interest about old vans in them!

Hecka, it could also give you a "bite" by these people coming up to you ---> a "barn find" vintage van, someone's (neighbor's) old van in a carport or garage or backyard for years. Think about that! They could tell you where they know these old van are hidden.

Well, I'm IN for a new T-shirt and a new coffee mug ... this is fishing season right now ready to snag the "van" fish!

Here's my take on this. I love the drawing (of course, I am a Chevy guy)! Not to step on your toes, James, but I did a quicky Photoshop edit and rearranged things to fit a T-shirt better and try out some of the suggested changes. Removed the license plates. I like how the vans are on a curve but to me the vans looked like they were falling off a cliff, so I just rotated them -10 degrees and I think it makes a big difference, and it fits with the logo better. I made the "AGE" bigger and added a .com (that font would need to match the other letters). Put orange in the side windows. Removed the back wheels.

What do you think?

How about we all run a poll survey in what we think of the new logo? The old one, the new logo, and the new tweaked logo? My 2 cents...

That should speak in what all of us have decide on!

Vanagain's version has my vote but I like Chebby's addition also. It's the details like changing the white to orange that really sharpen things up. The larger AGE is a definite plus too. When we printin????????????????

I say keep the vans branded,the no plates look good and so do the worded plates.Like the bigger AGE but the .com kills the oldskool look of the Tee I dont wanna wear an ad just a cool t shirt.But we should make stickers with the .com on it

Oh and add some rear tires to the last Chevy

I took another look at this and tried to balance it out by putting an angled van on the left. And this got them into A G E order! But I really had A G E G... So, much as it hurt, I removed the second G. What do you think?



I realize we're now getting quite a ways away from James' original drawing... This is how it often goes at my job. We start out with a fun idea and then it gets analyzed to death. But that's because it's no longer just a fun drawing, it's a product and we're trying to make the most people happy with it.

I can see that the .com kind of spoils the old school look, but when I wear my black Vintage-Vans shirt at an auto show, I do want to promote the web site. I'd like to hear what others think about including the .com.

black shirt I thought they were orange?I still think .com on stickers would be better ya only wear the shirt occasinally but a sticker you can give away and is always on display once you or everyone else sticks it somewhere.plus I love stickers and I'll put some on this van for ya

That looks good, droping the early chevy hurts. But keeping the design simple as possible actually will make the t-shirts better. Its tough to keep the details like the numberplates legible. I think the 3 vans balance out vs the 4 van line up.

That looks more balanced but the early Chev/GMC came 1st so IT should be there,not the 2nd gen.

Well the corvan came first!

I agree that the 1st Gen Chevy needs to be there. Also in VanAgains first edit where you added the orange in the ford's window it kind of makes the 1st gen look like a pick-up.

Other than that i think it looks great. I think I like having the dot com on the shirt.

I realy like VANAGN's last one ! Lets just settle on one so we can get some out soon and at up coming events.

Its great to see feedback and civility in this thread. I saw a custom motorcycle part developed on a forum I belonged to and let me tell you, it turned out awful. I might have bought one of the parts if they didn't do such a lousy job in the design and the font.

I agree that the longer this thread is kicked around the better its gonna get. You guys that have the talent and photoshopping skills just stay at it and I'll be giddy to get the final products, stickers, shirts or whatever the end result is. Thanks everybody!

I also am pleased with the input and ideas to make this great artwork even better for the site. It has been changed a little , but think xjamesx nice work has not been lost in the process. I'm hoping xjamesx isn't having a problem with this. James if your out there it would be good to here your thoughts
