Man, you are a magnet for the vans. Your town is full of them.

Re: I seen a VAN,,,(,part 1) Old posts
I commute any where from 80 to 100 miles a day and have never seen another van on the road. When I'm at work we cover 4 counties and I haven't seen one at anybodies house, the "rust" monster must have eaten most of them here.

KC stopped by my place the other day with one of his Vans:
He has owned this Van for several years and just recently got the engine back in it.

Re: I seen a VAN,,,(,part 1) Old posts
Get some pics of the inside if you can......I've never seen one.
There are 3 other vans on the mountain that I know of and 1 A100 p/u. The p/u is really nice and one other 1st gen chevy that runs around Crestline. I've seen the chevy a few times but have never talked to the guy. I will investigate this summer and see if I can find him. A guy at the local auto parts store said that he has an Astro van drivetrain in it. The other 2 vans are 1st gen chevies and havent moved in a very long time.

Re: I seen a VAN,,,(,part 1) Old posts
Coming home from a work road trip my wife and I stopped to check out about a 100 old Volkswagens this guy had at his place along the highway.
He told us to walk around and check it out, let us know if were interested in anything. Well, out behind some buildings I found these being neglected. I didnt ask him about them because he was on the phone when we were leaving, and I already have two vans at home. But I'm itching to sell my 66 so I can run down and get the Econoline Pickup from this guy.
The vans were being used as storage, and the doghouse looked to be missing from the Dodge, but it had a V8 in it. I was kind of surprised at how good the pickup looked, but then again I didn't check under the carpet..

Re: I seen a VAN,,,(,part 1) Old posts
you know it is very true you do not see these everyday, they are actually rare to see cruising down the road but what breaks my heart is every time i go to pick n pull they are lined up ready to get picked by vultures and crushed flat really really actually gets to me that people are so out of touch they would rather finance a kia then fix up a classic of any kind.

Re: I seen a VAN,,,(,part 1) Old posts
Since Donivan is out of town, I will cover for him. This was seen at UCSD college:
Destro, you are so right. It is especially heartbreaking when we see these vans here in the California junkyards where they are usually rust free! Maybe surface rust, some dents and missing parts, but someone in the rust belt would go crazy for it.
