Fitting a GM alternator Empty Fitting a GM alternator

Post by arracado Fri Apr 05, 2019 9:51 am

My van had the GM alternator swap done, but since I’ve redone the cooling system including new water pump and crank pulleys, it doesn’t line up perfectly as it should. It runs and the belt hasn’t gone flying off, but visually it’s off-kilter and I’d like it to fit as it should.

Right now I have added washers and a spacer to the top bolt, but am wondering if it’s better to either have a new bracket fabricated or put the spacers where the bracket meets the engine block. Any help is appreciated!
