Drag Link torque specs ? Empty Drag Link torque specs ?

Post by Keith D Sat Oct 07, 2017 7:13 pm

In my journey to get my A108 back in tip top shape, I have moved to the suspension rebuild phase. I replaced the drag link today, I was trying to find a torque specification in the service manual for the castle nuts on the drag link but I can't find it. When I removed the old one the castle nuts were not on very tight.

What is the proper procedure to seat the ball joint and set the castle nut before installing the cotter pin?

It is a slow tedious process rebuilding all of the suspension parts but I keep telling myself that it will be worth it because when I'm done it will handle and corner just like a late model Corvette...RIGHT?

,,,if the taper aint worn itself out from being loose, then tapping the drag link on should lock the ball joint and let you torque the nut without it spinning,,,,,,,
