66 G draft link or steering bar? Empty 66 G draft link or steering bar?

Post by Guest Tue May 26, 2009 12:06 pm

trying to buy a new draft link, and no body seems to have any info on the 66. They have the 67 and they say the tie rods are the same.

Does anybody know if the draft link or steering bar is the same on a 66 as it is on a 67? If not I apparently have to have it specially made according to Rare Parts in California.

    Thanks.

They are 180 degrees out,,,,,,I guess you can cut it in half and weld it so that the tie rods connect to the steering knuckle correctly,,,,,the taper is different,,,,,now you could put a 2nd gen steering knuckle on a 1st gen and use that 2nd gen drag link,,,,,,

Here is a pic of a tie rod on my 78 Chevy G-30,,,,,,it uses those ES409 tie rods and the ES2004s connecting sleeve,,,,,it is 16 inches long,,,,,now if you can stretch it to 28 inches,,,,,you would have a 1964-70 G-10 Chevy and GMC drag link,,,,,,
