Fuel Hose Routing Empty Fuel Hose Routing

Post by flyintiger Mon Oct 31, 2016 8:15 am

    Morning everyone!

The fuel delivery in my van is pretty interesting, not sure what is going on.

The previous owner installed two, 3 barb fuel filters and did some wacky stuff with the fuel pipe off the carburetor.

I was wondering if someone can post a picture or two of what your stock fuel line routing looks like. I would like a reference before I start digging into this project next weekend.

It would be helpful to know what year van you have. Also what engine you are working with.

If this helps, I don't have a pic, but..
    Mine is a 69 318.
Mine was Hard line from carb around front of engine down to fuel pump. Softline off fuel pump to glass filter- to hard line through frame motor mounts- along chassis rails all the way back to tank with 1 inch if soft line for the bend at tank.

    Perfect, thanks guys!

Can't believe I forgot to remind everyone what year and motor I have... It was bound to happen in one of these posts!

    It's a '67 A100, 225 six with a 3sp

I'm having an issue with power under a load. Starts and idles great in the driveway and at very low speeds, but hesitates and loses power before stalling when you try to give it gas. Going to test my ignition coil and replace the old fuel line this weekend and see what I get.

You might also pull the sending unit out and check and see if it has a nylon sock on it,they can deteriorate from age and collapse.

Also check your vacuum at the distributor, sounds like it's not advancing or accelerator pump not squirting?

Have 18"+ vacuum at the distributor connection and the vacuum advance diaphragm holds strong when I apply a vacuum with the mighty vac.
