Bad news….

I have just been given bad news…
I have pancreatic cancer which has traveled to my liver and small intestines. There is NO hope, I am going to try chemo (it only slows it down) I will probably get sick as hell, they say I might last 5-6 months at the most. My best to all of you members, I am going to try and have my 1967 Dodge Sportsman done be a local mechanic before I die, I will tell my daughter to post it on this website after it is finished.

I am sorry to hear of your illness. I knew a man who had his pancreas removed and 3/4 of his liver too.
He was alive for more than 2 years! He took very powerful meds to account for NO pancreas, etc. ect.. I have been told that is impossible... I knew him, so it happened. He lived in LA. Never give up until your DEAD! Remember to use your brain power, it can make a difference.
Life... no one gets out alive!

I'm a diabetic and I also know of a person who has had their pancreas removed and is still with us after almost 3 years I was told that it is not possible but she is living proof so NEVER give up HOPE and stay strong. You are in our PRAYERS

Very sad news, Alan. I think Jacke has the right idea though. Try to stay positive and make the most of your time with your family and loved ones. You will be in our prayers. I've had many family members who have had to deal with this horrible disease but a few of them have defied the odds. Never underestimate the power of positive thinking! Treatments have come a long way and hopefully they'll find a cure soon. Our best to you and your family.

Hang in there buddy. My very good buddy was diagnosed with stage 4 stomach cancer two years ago. He has been taking a chemo treatment and doing very well. He had to retire but except for being tired he has lived a normal life. They told him he only has a 4% chance of survival.

THAT SUCKS! My father died from cancer but he put up a good fight.
Hang in there.

Sorry to hear of your illness Alan. The best thing is to stay positive. I hate it when doctors put a date on your life. They don't know everything. I had a heart attack and have bad kidneys. The VA hospital wanted me to go on dialisis in may but i didn't. I told them as long as i am still pissing i won't do it. I did a drastic change of diet and take medication and i am doing pretty good. The thing is to have a positive attitude and a mental list of things you want to accomplish.

my wife has been fighting terminal cancer for 8 yrs and still here but the chemo is hard on her keep fighting

Sorry to hear, put up a good fight! My Mom's neighbor was treated for the same thing and is in remission and living a full life 3 years later so don't give up hope!

I am going on a week cruise to Mexico with my loved ones to relax befor I start my chemo treatments. I start chemo on November 22. It will be once a week for 3 weeks then one week off, this will happen for 3 months. Hoping it will slow the cancer. I will try to keep you updated, I don't know how sick I will get from the chemo. If I don't post anything for a long time, just figure the chemo did not work.
