I bought a1964 G10 back in August. Pretty rough, but ran great. Included a bunch of doors with it that are going to barely make it for getting me a good complete set.

Immediately started with rebuilding the door hinges, all thanks to the great info here. I've about half done so far.

Had a slight heat problem, but turned out to be a bad cap on the radiator. Meh.

I believe the van is from Alaska, and probably one owner. Like he just gave it less and less over the years. Wiring is relatively untouched, stock alternator, even the flip option passenger seat. Pretty goofy thing.

I can't identify the motor. It's got the six with a non-synchro three on the column. Numbers I pull off the block lead me to a crate engine. CE_________ for a vin.

Just finished doing the brakes. Unstuck the parking brake cable, all new slaves, new shoes up front, completely cleaned everything. Even found it had missing hardware in the rear for the parking brake, found it at a junkyard, and everything works great. Parking brake included.

While testing the new brakes, by some fluke or sitting in the cold for a couple weeks, the rear gear in the transmission popped. Sounds like tranny is a goner. No reverse. A little noisy in neutral.

Anyone know if a newer column three with a synchro swaps easily?

The Muncie is a useless transmission,,,,,I surely put a Saginaw in my 65,,,,,,,,and we put other transmissions in our vans,,,,,,,and whats wrong with yours,,,,,is the shift lever actually moving the levers on the trans,,,,,is the levers loose on the cover,,,,,,pull the side cover off,,,,,,see if the cover levers are working the 2 gears in the trans,,,,,,

I'll check tomorrow and see if the rods are engaged. Haven't had a single problem or grind in the 2-3k I've put on it in the last couple months...

Looks like a yoke would have to be obtained, according to your pics. Going from a 16 to a 27 spline.

yeah,,,,,you kinda gotta grab the yoke and the 2nd and 3rd cross shaft to get that trans to fit,,,,,,seems like all 194/230/250 6 cylinders are the same,,,,,
