Question on Wheel Sizes Empty Question on Wheel Sizes

Post by JJCJR Fri Oct 16, 2015 12:37 pm

Hi guys, long time. My 1963 Ford Falcon Club Wagon Deluxe is coming along. Metal work is almost done. I'll be posting some pictures soon. I have 14" steel wheels, and I'd like to put on 15" steel wheels with dog bowl hubcaps. I've looked through Wheel Vintiques, but don't know what bolt pattern or offset I'm looking for. Any help would be appreciated.

I know its a 5 x 4 1/2 bolt pattern. Not sure about the offset.

I believe standard offset on stock steelies is + 1/4"/6mm for 7" rims.  I assume if your going aftermarket you're wanting wider rims? Stock width 5.5-6" 15" with outer tits for standard ~10" dog dishes are pretty easy to find dirt cheap. 7" and 8" widths are harder to find. I wanted to put 15 x 7's on mine but it's actually cheaper to go with new alloys vs new steel even before paint or powder coating, so I'm going with alloy myself. Couldn't find 4 of the damn things in salvage. Can't bring myself to pay $90 each for steelies.

The offset depends on the rim width.

These are the rims you are looking for, standard dog dish hub caps that snap onto the outside of the inner circle fit these, although I have read that they can be too loose if not modified slightly. 15 x 7's will easily fit front and back unless you mount a really wide tire on them. 225/60 15's should fit ok, but best to measure your van from the wheel mounting surface to all possible rub points with a square.
