air guide panels Empty air guide panels

Post by AwDang Sun Jun 14, 2015 5:04 pm

Does someone have pictures or diagrams of the front air guide panels they can share?
I'm referring to the under tray, and any side panels to direct fresh air to the radiator. I'm trying to figure out what I'm missing and reassemble them.

    This is on a 66 with a 240

    TIA!

If you use the search tab at top of page, search on Belly, there are many threads about these belly pans. Here's one of them: https://vintage-vans.forumotion.com/t13688-belly-pan-information?highlight=belly

    Enjoy!

While "belly" is not a word I would have thought of. It still didn't lead to pictures of the OE 240 parts. So I can identify what I have or don't have, in various boxes.

The one I have is all one piece. The bottom tray has side panels that are bent up and have taps on them that bolt to the bottom of the frame. My van is a 66 as well. I will take some pics of it later today and try to post them for you.

Here's a picture of mine, from a '65 pickup with the 240 engine. It's a little bent, but should be easily straightened... One of these days.  Rolling Eyes

On the Chevys, the side panels are referred to as splash shields and they cover the brake lines, clutch linkage, etc. but they also help with airflow when attached to the belly pan. My van runs 5-10 degrees cooler with them in place.

I know the truck in an original 240. The number stampings match the door tag.

That's a Dodge pan. Sell it and buy a Ford pan.

    Duane in Tennessee.
