    Econoline white Empty Econoline white

    Post by 66mnecotruck Sat Feb 15, 2014 7:38 am

Hello, I'm new, thanks in advance for any help:)

I'm restoring a 66 Econoline truck, pictures to come. I want to keep it original as possible but I personally do not like the coded pure white color. How sacrilegious would it be to shift it too the Wibledon white? I suppose you just don't win any awards with it.

Paint it any color you wish. Personally I prefer the Pure White over the Wimbledon White. The Wimbledon White has too much yellow in it for me.

I think the Wimbledon White was created as a white that was not supposed to look dirty when it got dirty, but for me it always looks dirty, even when clean.

I feel you, anyone one who has tried to keep a gelcoat white, would wonder why in the hell you would paint something dirt white:) Is there another ford white called race white? Off white gives the vehicle a little "bought" patina I think.

I'd be surprised if any one at a show would say that is not the original white , even judging at the van nationals that was not even a question, quality of the paint job ?? yes but not color,If you go to a local show you would be the only forward control van / pickup there, so for that reason they stick you with all the pickups /or vans there.
