    Does the starter solenoid need to be bolted to the dog house as a ground in order to get the starter to engage?

    Must be grounded in some way!! Verify the =GROUND =also!! do not =assume!

    Like TP says it must be grounded. And make sure you have a very good chassis to Bat/eng ground also.

    After painting the interior I was not finished putting dog house back together and the solenoid was not bolted back to the dog house.. yes that worked.. Thank you all
