Just thought I'd let everyone know about my purchase,  and say hey!  Also,  thanks to everyone that helped with information,  and thanks for the topics on getting an old sitting van running,  they helped hugely!
I went to check this van out for the second time,  and changed the oil,  cranked some oil into it,  switched the ignition switch,  ran a tube for fuel into a new gas tank,  installed new spark plugs,  and ran the thing just fine,  actually turned over better than my daily driver,  with a little gas in the carb!
Check it out,  my new baby,  a Dodge A100 1968 Travco Camper Van!

You were a part of the community even without a van, but now you are an owner too!
Glad to help out and make sure of what you were getting before purchase.
Now it's all about getting it home, major cleanup, and getting it drivable!

Save all the nuts, bolts and screws you find inside. They may come in handy when putting stuff back right. Also get a manual for all the lube points, mechanical questions and help getting it back on the road.
You can get a key made too which should fit all the locks and ignition. A good locksmith will want a lock that was used less frequently, meaning passenger or side/rear door, not driver door or ignition.

    Congrats!

One more thing I'd suggest to anyone new to these vans.
Every posting of vans for sale will usually have at least a few pictures.
Create a folder on your computer for these sale pictures and save them all.
You will be able to check for various things when you have a question about something.
How different colors look, wheel and tire options, dash layouts, engine details, and different modifications.

Great tip Rod! I have to replace the tires on mine and I started looking through a bunch of pics I had saved in a folder to see the different rims and tires and which ones I was drawn to before I decide which to purchase.

Vanny, glad you use the tip!
BTW, I just happended to start work at a wheel company!
I won't sully the forum with an ad for the place, and the styles are geared more toward vintage sports cars than vintage vans, but they are nice! The one that would carry over to our vans is a replica of the wheel used on Sam Posey's TA Challenger.

Hard to see the wheels at the angle in that pic.

Well, I tried to find a small pic that wasn't associated with my company and figured that anyone interested in seeing the wheels on the Trans Am Challenger could find a bunch of BIG pics of the car. I do not want to step on any toes of the people responsible for this great forum.

    Here's another try.
    The originals are minilites.

They are very similar in style to vintage japanese Watanabe wheels that are on some of the late model "dajiban" Dodge vans over in Japan.

Yep, I've had a folder of all images I've taken, and the original ones from craigslist in a folder already, good for reference!
