Post by Jimmi Davies Fri Aug 30, 2013 10:39 am

New guy here, so i thought I'd introduce you to my new shop truck. It's a 1970 108 Chevy. Real simple machine, and here's what Ive done in the last 6 days: Yarded out the seized up 307, bought a used 350 4 bolt that I freshened up with some go fast goodies (headers, Holley 600, RV cam, high volume oil pump, Edelbrock intake, HEI Accel super coil, Cherry Bombs and street sweeper shorty pipes, Cloyes double roller timing set, etc), rebuilt the brakes from the master cylinder back, installed some Mastercraft Safety fixed back racing seats which I will outfit with racing harnesses soon, and put some vintage Torque Thrust rims on it. It will need taller tires and a Posi rear end soon. Really enjoying it so far. I will like it a lot more once I repair the minimally rusted floor areas and replace the windshield. The title is on the way from the Montana DMV. A local sign painter is going to hand paint my shop mark and lettering on the doors in copper paint and vintage style lettering, faux patina it, then I'm going to clear coat the whole thing to preserve its vintage MT patina. I may raise the front end an inch and a half or two, put taller tires on back or a couple of 15" matching wheels and give it the semi-gasser look. Pretty stoked! I need a few things for it, so I'll be checking the listings. Thanks for creating a cool forum, and thanks in advance for the info I will be pulling from here. I hope to be able to contribute when I can.

Not sure on the headers. Guy had them in the garage and threw them in with the 350. He had plans to put the engine in a third gen Camaro. Maybe that's what they were for? It's a crap shoot. I was surprised at how perfect the fitment was, but they do hang a bit low.
