Can someone explain the shift pattern on the 64 3 speed? Mine seems like random guess work. 1st time with a 3 on the tree. Thanks!

Think of it as a theft deterrent device! Not many people could figure out how to move it, let alone steal it.

Not weird at all. It's the same as a 3 speed floor shift, just laid on it's side.

    LOL

I think I will make a decal of that and stick it to the dash just to confuse the tire shop guys.

Yeah, I gotta post that over my shifter too. Brilliant. Here in DC the theives can't drive even sticks so one finds them a block or two away stuck in gear. Surprised the aftermarket folks don' sell fake shifters to "make your auto look like a stick". But wait, order two for the price of one.

The theives love those yuppy cars with the dual auto and stick. Probably love them when they get to Mexico too.

Now, I can see why autos are even getting popular for OTR Trucks. Can pay people less if there are more that can drive.

    Happy motoring, Mark

never understood why so many people cant drive a stick? i tought myself when i bought a car with a 3 on the tree. i had no idea what the third pedal was, let alone gear pattern but i figured it out. 1; hold gas pedal to floor 2; quickly release clutch 3; hang on
