Air shocks are typically a band aid!!! They dont transfer the weight correctly to the frame. An air ride system helps the springs work when you want them to. If you are ONLY trying to raise the vehicle,, perhaps another leaf or blocks???? Consider the options,,,,
If for occasional towing or occasional loads its hard to beat a good air bag system like Firestone and those types.
Just my opinion,,,,,, taking a complete set off of a salvage truck for myself right now...

They work like a negative anti-sway bar. When cornering, downward pressure on one side of the vehicle forces the air to the other shock, which raises the side of the vehicle that you want to be lower. I'll never do it again.

I run separate lines to the shocks and don't over-inflate them so the van sits like a stinkbug! Never had an issue that way. Thanks for the warnings though!

I knew a guy with an Econoline van who rolled the van, then put on four air shocks with separate lines as a quick way to level out the van.

    Mine were Gabriel HighJackers.
