Exhaust Question- For all us V8 van Types-whats the difference between the different series mufflers-40,60,70's & such as now advertized? What sounds best to each of us & why? I always have liked the sound from the early GT mustangs. Im not talking -steel / V/S stainless -just types mufflers -NOT Glasspacks. Duals stuff after headders. Be brand & type specefic. Thanx

Twin, go on you tube and do searches for different mufflers.
The engine, level of tune, total exhaust length and other things can change the sound some, but you can get a pretty good idea what each muffler sounds like.
One thing to keep in mind is that it is a long length of tubing with noise going in one end. The result is a fixed trombone. It will have resonant frequencies and should be tuned so you don't get droning. A van with a droning exhaust is going to be ugly inside!

Re: EXHAUSTS= MUFFLER Secific!!
also the longer the pipes are the quiter the exaust is. loudest in front of the rear tires. i wanted alittle sound so i used a walker muffler and exited behind the rear tires. the same muffler would be louder in front of the tires. i think you can also go on flow master to hear the differnt mufflers. i lost 30 percent of my hearing so it didn't do much for me...

Exhaust
I am running the 318 in my 108. I put a 2 1/2" dual exhaust (no headers) that exits right in front of the rear tires. I am running the flowtech afterburner mufflers from summit racing. They sound pretty good to me.
