shocks on lowered econoline? Empty shocks on lowered econoline?

Post by Guest Thu Jan 08, 2009 8:07 pm

    Hi all,
The previous owner of my '66 lowered the rear by mounting the leaf springs under the axles. He welded the supports for the airbags in and new support plates for the leafs but at a greater down angle.
Now the studs for the shock mounts are pointing way down almost 90° and I have no clue how to mount shocks there.
    Any ideas?

Didn't know the pinion angle would change that much... shock mount was more pointing ahead before... can't use a longer shock? Might need to relocate the mounts... I'm guessing, don't know from experience. But it's good to know... I'd like to bag my econo too. good luck
