I would. When a car battery charges it gives off fumes and a little air flow gets rid of those fumes. We don't notice them in our newer cars cus the battery is way out under a well ventilated nose. If you ever had to put a battery on a charger over night and with the caps loosend off you will no what i am mean. I am going to put my battery under the floor with a floor/door for access.

My falcon van came with a scorched back drivers seat that I figured out was a battery blast in the past ... make sure that the battery is clamped inside the box ... no side terminals and if you can't clamp it ... cover the terminals with an insulator ... not that I have a clue ... lol farking van catches fire when I wash it ... but it's like a crazy girlfriend ... good for something ...

i would recommend that you buy yourselves an optima battery.costs a bit more but lasts much longer and will not leak.

My Pops hook you up? ... just to let you know that the insulator bushings that lead out of the battery box are the same that my Pops has for shift rods ... cheap and easy ... don't ask me who had that idea for both ... lol

pops did hook me up with a nice battery box.
here is a pic. of the monkey set up the po had. the angle iron frame is welded on and not primed or painted.
im going to cut the frame off and see if the box will fit in the stock location.
