Does any one have pictures of an original jack and where it was stored? I'm mainly interested in the pick-up location. I have a threaded stud on the floor behind the seat, I'm thinking it was stored there? were they screw type with the folding crank handle? I would also like to see a picture of the spare tire holder, the rod and the large washer or what ever held the rim. I'm guessing the wing nut was pretty standard to all Dodges of those years. My truck is a 64. Thanks Ray

Re: Original Jack
I'm still missing an original jack for all of mine.
I haven't researched it, but expect a scissor jack and folding handle like the superbird jack in the picture.
No room for a bumper jack.
Must be short to fit under axle, so no bottle jack.
Similar time frame, so probably a similar jack.
BTW, Superbird jacks are fairly unique and VERY expensive!
I'd guess any decent scissor jack would work.
I wonder if it was shared with a D100 truck (similar chassis configuration).

Thanks Rod. Been looking for a decent jack for my A100. Bottle jacks leak if tipped over. I don't really trust the one I picked up at Autozone, but I needed to get something just in case.

Re: Original Jack
I will get picks of mine as it is original and mounted behind the drivers seat. I am not sure if the screw handle is mounted correct but it works. Will post as soon as I can. Have daughters wedding this tomorrow so not sure how busy will be

This is the one that came with my '67 A120 (A108). I cannot say with 100% certainty that this is the original, but I'm pretty darned sure it is. There is a sheet metal angled tab under the rear of the seat (on the floor in front of the battery box) that the jack's base slips under and an angled tab that goes onto the stud that you mention, to secure it. To jack up the rear it fits under the shock absorber mount and in the front it fits under the axle below the springs. It is 8" high and the top 1-3/4" flips over in case you need the extra clearance. Extended height is 12".

Re: Original Jack
Oops - pardon me for possibly misleading. I've always carried 2 jacks in the van and I assumed that the last one I posted was the original. One thing I can say with absolute certainty is that either the last one was the original or this one was. It has a 6-1/2" compressed and a 15" extended height.

I'd be leery of a bumper jack.

Re: Original Jack
Thanks Mr b.
So now I know which is the original.
Either they came out with that extra U-bracket on the top in '68, or you got the fancy deluxe model.

Re: Original Jack
I thought it was kewl how your first jack that you shown had a flip down piece for clearance. Know mine is original. Does anyone know how all the pieces are to be clamped into the trucks?

I appreciate that Mr blackace, and although I do take comfort in your words I can't help feeling slighted by ending up with the cheap-o original.
