The econoline stand Empty The econoline stand

I have my truck at my girlfriends polebarn but it seems like everytime I start getting deep in the truck she always needs me to move it for something. I had the rear axle out and she asked if I could move it then I took the front axle out to do the kingpins, tie rod ends, disc brake conversion etc and guess what....it's garage sale time so it needs to be moved again.
I started looking at the mobile carts that eastwood and summit sells but it's just too much money so i decided to build my own. I didn't really have a concrete plan, I just wanted something the truck could set on while i moved it around and I could also work on it.

I really didn't like the idea of using wood so I went to my local steel supply store and bought some 2x2 3/16 wall steel and started going to town. I picked up some casters from work along with welding rods and made some gussets for the uprights.

    Here it is

I just measured the width between the front and rear spring mounts and also front to back.

I tacked everything together just to make sure it fit then welded it all together.

Don't ask for a close up of my welds though. I'm still learning with the arc welder.

I just thought i'd share this with everyone, it makes it so much easier to work on the body now too.

It doesn't have to be pretty as long as it works

That looks great. And as stated, as long as it works , and besides that's what paint is for. Believe me, I go through lots of paint after I weld...lol. cheers

Thats very cool, although the acres of concrete you have outside are begging for a new workshop that the missus isn't aloud in....  Twisted Evil
