And then, of course, ,,,,mine is what they call an EARLY 65, (before April 1965 with 2 latches on the doghouse cover) and 5 slot grille,,,,now the LATE 65, with the 6 slot grille might not have the 153 on their data plates,,,,lets see if that shows up on someones van,,,,,,

Where is the engine info located on the data plate? Is it a code or does it show the engine size?

The plate is supposed to be like right next to the clutch pedal, right under the lower front door hinge,,,,it will have the paint and trim code of the van, the GVW rating, wheelbase and the choice of engine you will find in the doghouse. And the Early 65 is mostly leftover 1964 parts,,,,,,,and did they actually ever put a 4 cylinder in an Early 65 van is another question,,,,,,
