Yup very clean, just a little crease on the side. The big ugly bumper that was on it must have done a good job!

I let it out of the cave today.

    motorheads 66 pick up 66_11-19

Hosed her down, and the garage from all the sanding dust.

    motorheads 66 pick up 66_11-20

Finally had enough of that Holley and got me an Edelbrock, Smaller in size too so I wont have to put such a big cut-out on the side of the doghouse.
Excuse to dust! I dont think it will ever be free of dust!

Still trying to remember what all this white stuff on the ground is?? Shocked

    motorheads 66 pick up 66-12-12

Thinking about leaving it in primer for the winter, squaring up the mechanicals, I will finish up the bodywork and paint it in the spring.....??????????

Thats about the extent of the snow we get here, Its already melted. Just the way I like it, Looks nice coming down, but disappears as fast as it comes! I can drive 20 minutes in any direction and be knee deep in it, but I dont have to deal with it everyday. I was a midwesterner for 30 years, Dont miss it a bit!

What are the access doors in each bedside for? That's a killer tailgate and overall a great base truck to start with. The body's in great shape being rust free and all. You bought that truck REAL right.

Those doors are fuel doors, It has 3 tanks, the factory one and 2 saddle tanks. Has a manual three way valve on the doghouse, but no senders in the 2 aux tanks. I am gonna assume they were put on maybe as a dealer add on or???
Thought about removing them, But there right on the seams of the bed sides, Dont really want to make any more work for myself!

Drove it for the first time tonight, Sure is quicker than I thought it would be! Cruise-a-matic is a little different.... But shifts nice and firm.
Sounds like Im in a airplane, Time to look into doghouse insulation. Good time, Now im a lot more motivated to press on and get some more work done.

Great job motorhead. Now the fun really begins...do I fix this or do I go for a quick cruise...fix...quick trip to the store....hmmm. I've noticed it's really hard to stop driving these things once you start..lol. Thank God it snowed up here, or I would still be driving without a dog house.

    Yup, Whats that saying...........
"When it runs its done!" ................
Or was it, "In the rough is just enough" ????

I get more thumbs up and questions in this truck than any other ride I have built, I have $3100 to date including the price of the truck invested so far, I have spent more for a set of cylinder heads before. Proves sometimes that "less is more"

I hear you Motorhead. I've had more positive response from my truck than anything I've ever owned. There's a lot of bang for the buck in these. Your truck is looking great. Hope you enjoy it!!
