Hey man. sorry to hear that. Nothing like a great 4-legged friend to greet you when you get home. Hang in there.

Re: Tough times..
I ONLY WANTED YOU
They say memories are golden
well maybe that is true
I never wanted memories,
I only wanted you.
A million times I needed you,
a million times I cried.
If love alone could have saved you
you never would have died.
In life I loved you dearly,
In death I love you still.
In my heart you hold a place
no one could ever fill.
If tears could build a stairway
and heartache make a lane,
I'd walk the path to heaven
and bring you back again.
Our family chain is broken,
and nothing seems the same.
But as God calls us one by one,
the chain will link again.

Re: Tough times..
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Re: Tough times..
My wife managed an animal hospital for 12 years so you can believe I ve had way more than my fair share of pets over the years. Its never easy to lose one or put one down for that matter. We've got 4 dogs currently but have had more in the past along with birds, rabbits, ferrets, gerbils, cats, pygmy goats, pot belly pig,and more. My kids were always busy with something growing up. Thankfully she works for a doctor the past 8 years now and we have thinned the herd. I was always the unlucky one chosen to be there when we had to put some of them down. Nothing beats a good ol dog. They love ya when ya stink to high heaven after a hard days work just as much as they do after you're freshly showered. We've even rescued a few from bad situatiuons over the years. My latest dog I took from a customer who couldnt afford to give it alleregy shots and just let it lose all its hair and be miserable. Now its healthy and one of my best pals. Ya cant replace em but ya can get a different one to help ease the pain. Sorry to hear about your loss man.

VH you'll never replace that loved one, but a new one will ease the pain for your family and another new one would surely have a great home from what I see with your family

Re: Tough times..
All three of my dogs are rescues. Sam who is 17 now my wife got from the shelter. Jack who passed was found discarded on one of my job sites. Katie we found on the highway with her brother and we managed to catch her but the brother got away only to be found hit by a car the next day. Sometimes we foster a dog from time to time only because those dogs you see on adoption day at Pet-Smart usually means it's the last shot before they are put to sleep. So yes SAVE A LIFE!!!!
