Well, I usually don't say, since the rest of you will say "old fart" or young 'un" Laughing
The fact I was growing up in the mid 70s should be enough of a clue.... affraid

Here's one that rocks enough that you can't hear the van parts falling off!

Here is one from some So Cal boys I loved to go see.
Has a van on the cover, so it's appropriate

Woke up with this in my head, a far cry from the other good songs here, but I like a lot of different music.

I love all of the old country and western songs from the 20s to the 60s. Hank Snow, Hank Williams, Ernest Tubb, Tennessee Ernie Ford, Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson just to name a few. Grew up watching the Grand Ole opry.

VB, that's the only country I can listen to. The stuff from the early 80s and up are too formuliac and corporate.
Maybe some Hank III and Steve Earle, but all the 'hits' do nothing for me....

EDIT: and the Cash sessions with Rick Rubin at the knobs, beauty!

I also like blue grass. Anything with violins and banjos gets my attention. Love the old Gospel songs sung by Tennessee Ernie Ford and Elvis Preley

You need to get down to the folk music deal at Adams Ave in San Diego.
    Amazing stuff for you.

When I am in Amarillo, Texas I always go to a church on Saturday nights where the minister plays a steel guitar and their band has a harp, base fiddle, violins, banjoes, flutes, bass guitars, harmonicas virtually every stringed instrument, piano, accordions and organ. Three hours of hill billy style gospel music. Wish we had something like that here.

Blue grass ramble every sat and sun on NPR. Four hours of great music. Eight to midnight here on the east.
