is there anybody out there cutting up a1st or 2nd gen chevy? looking for the vent door and
surrounding frame to put one on the pass side also. I will be using an aftermarket heat/a/c def unit
and will be making a plate to cover the exsiting hole left by the factory heater unit, I want to
put the vent in that cover. any help would be great.

Hey dude, I'm doing the same thing. Quiet Ride Solutions in Stockton made me a cover out of ABS plastic for that hole with the screw holes already in it. They will have the pattern made up by Monday if you wanted just that piece. Do you already have your AC unit? You may have a problem finding a spot to put the vent door. I do not have my unit yet, but anticipate running into that problem.

Good luck and let's keep in touch...

planning using a vintage air genII supercooler as a front unit
and a toyota previa minivan rear unit for the rear unit.
making a plate to cover the original opening will not be
that tough. gonna make mine from steel so welding on the
    vent door will be possible.

The issue is the AC unit will be mounted right in front of where the vent door would go. We don't have the luxury of having a big dash to hide stuff under.

I`m gonna hang the unit centered under the dash, the drivers
side will be almost against the wiper motor, will hang below the
dash just above the tunnel I built.
