Is this van worth the asking price? I have talked to the owner, and it seems that the van is really clean.

Van only has 66,000 miles and had been in storage for 12 years before current owner bought it at an auction.

I have always wanted a shorty since I passed one up about 5 years ago. I don't know what they are going for, so your help is greatly appreciated.

Maybe... but I wouldn't pay that much.

I bought my '63 Falcon window van last year about this time for $3900. It has a pretty much rust-free body with an older professional paint job. All of the interior bits were there and I was able to drive it home without issue.

Mine came with all of the optional fiberglass trim around the windows and a working side step. The interior needs work, but the exterior looked flawless.

I think I got a good price, but would expect to be able to barter down from that price.

    Good luck with your shopping.

I have another opinion. It's high, but if the body is truly as clean as he says then it MIGHT be worth buying it. These aren't on every corner, especially without rust or other body damage. Body work is expensive, so unless you can do a lot of it yourself you might be ahead by paying a little more for a clean example. I'd bargain hard on the price though. It's not likely he has people lining up to buy it.
