John , you are absolutely the very first person I've ever encountered with the 4 spd columm shift !!!!!!!! I thought they were a misprint in the owners manual . Hell G M has been know to lie to me before but sir , you sure as heck confermed it . That thing must be akin to a Mercedes piece that they manufactured back around 1960 on the Diesel cars . I saw one apart , I'm galad I was only the gofer on that job , whew.......... ! Seriously , I have never seen or talked to anyone having the four speed transmission . I've talked to a couple of Custom buildes over the years that installed the Hurst Van shifters that were avalible back in 1975 for the newer vans , ie Fords 69- up. Heck thats wayyyy better than a No door Chevrolet . That really is a rareity !!!!! Scrubba
