Joe,
That's a nice take on the peace sign. All that cold weather work and time you put in sure turned out to be worth it, just in time for the summer cruise time too. Great job. Scott...

Re: Digz's 65 panel
I see it's been ages since I posted anything in this thread so...
My 40$ Ebay carb has finally seen it's better days ! LOL I learned that finding a rebuild kit locally was almost a joke and my Ace In The Hole shop said "I don't work on those things", apparently to old.
So I ordered a remanufactured Edelbrock 1406. Should be here today. Just thought I'd post a few pics of the prep to get it off .
Carb is off now but I had to do some real work so the reat later and I hope that was my problem !! And please ignore my birds nest wiring and plumbing.. Never said I was good at detail stuff.

Re: Digz's 65 panel
Got it on and running. Pretty sure I need new plugs before dialing it in all the way. Got rid of my High end loaded POP. A little flat off the line and some stuttering at cruise ,feels more like a miss/sparkplug hiccup tho. First couple of runs were fantastic other than the flat spot on take off and that was not that bad.

Re: Digz's 65 panel
Pretty sure I found my culprit, #7 plug boot was burned through right next to the header. Couldn't see it until I changed the plugs and pulled the wire off. So next project ,New wires with 90* ends. Just turned the burn away from the pipe for now ,LOL. Don't know what I was thinking when I put these on in the first place. Not going to brag up MSD wires though.

Re: Digz's 65 panel
Yea the 90* ends are the way to go with "headers" you can turn them away from the pipes.. ...Digz...How much lift is on your front springs over the stock ones??? I am getting ready to redo mine again the 2 inch re arch lasted only a year its almost back where it was before I did it....

Re: Digz's 65 panel
Dix, that intake set up was around 16$ off Ebay. Think it is for a 2000's Dodge truck. Made in mejico I think. Came with a straight piece, 1 angle, air filter and bonnet with a couple choices for holding it down. I had WAY more into the 2 Spectre elbows I had to add than the rest of it. I used 3" no-hub bands (plumbing stuff) for the connections, the blue silicone sleeve came with it.
Joe, I over compensated a bit on the fronts at a 3" over on NEW springs. The rears were 1" over because I figured I could run air shocks if needed, hasn't needed them yet. The front has settled down some because my shocks will now reach the original mounting location. That is important because my crappy mounts I made for the upper didn't treat the wheel wells good. I couldn't find longer shocks without them being fatter and they interfered with the disc brake and sway bar ends. If running stock brakes and no swaybar a set of Ranchos would work. Or fab some extensions that utilize the original upper shock mounts some how. BTW I am running stock front shocks on the rear also.
