Hey everyone..been lurking for a bit and just wanted to start off by saying thanks for the info i get off of here. I picked up a 1967 heavy duty econoline van about a year ago and in the process of making it my shop truck. Im trying to get it done by labor day weekend for the ra show in memphis tn. Its coming along real good. The suspension is all done with air ride and i have done a 4 inch body drop to it. Will be running 18 and 20 inch wheels on it. It will have 4 buckets and a bench in the rear.. interior all done in black. Im gonna just scuff it and paint it flat mint green again with my shop logo on the sides all distressed..make it look like it came out of a barn. Ill get some picts soon. Rebuilding the rear as we speak so i will be able to put it on the ground and get some good picts. Just wanted to say thanks for the help on the technical side of this thing! Very Happy

thanks for the welcome guys! as far as the wheel tub i have not touched them at all. i will sit in factory location. what i did on the body drop is i basically sectioned over the frame area and reboxing it...this kept everything factory..only way to tell is center of the floor up 4 inches and column is up four inches. the seat mounts to the tub and i remade a the inner bracket. truthfully it makes it feal more comfortable..pedals are like in a car position and now the dog house is at arm rest height. i seen alot of people bashing air ride but truthfully its real easy on this. with the straight axle u kind have to think of it as a street rod. monoleafed with axle on top..made brackets and welded it to the axle. to stop the side to side issue i designed a wishbone set up that works great. im just trying to find balljoint spacers so i can run the steering arm underneath the leaf. i rebent the draglink so it will be parallel at ride hight. this will stop bumpsteer. just as long at ride height the link is on a straight plane your all good. done it on a few dropped streetrods and they have no problems at all. im really antsy to get this done. ive always like these vans. the suspension should all be buttoned up this weekend. then next week bodywork and paint..then interior. looks like its gonna be some long nites but i have to have this at that show in memphis. if you are around there come on by and hook up. ill be with the source interlink booth. thanks agin for the welcome!

Very nice! Would've been great to have had you at MidSouth Econoline Meet last weekend, would've been a wild addition. Maybe you can make it next year?

    Keep it up!,

    Later,

A friend of tubbed his Econo pickup front and rear moved the 350 motor back several inches. Hardly anything is stock though. It lays frame. Once he gets it done I will post picks of it.
