Re: lead additive?
They took the lead out in 1975,,,,,,and after that they started putting in harder valve seats in the new and rebuilt cylinder heads to keep the valves from beating up the softer seats. The lead was a cushion. So unless you have an engine built before 1975 and you drive it really hard, You should be OK. And it is based on miles driven,,,,,,,all it would turn out to be is that you would need a valve job sooner,,,,,,,,I have not seen too many problems since leaded gas went away.

Re: lead additive?
i've owned many old vehicles and like donivan65 i have never seen a noticeable problem. mind you most of those cars and trucks left a pool of oil everywhere i went and attracted cops like flies to rotting meat, so maybe i just didn't notice. oh and cool van, i like the rims a lot
