This morning I left in the van for Econo Northwest 2021. It’s been obscenely hot here and I had one eye on the temp gauge the whole time. It wasn’t far away and I could take secondary roads the entire trip. The van is low geared and at 50 mph the little engine was humming. I was the second van there with the other vans and pickups trickling in. There were 4 Travelwagons in attendance and I was told that was an event record. Met some cool people and also picked up a few parts: an additional vent box, dome light and a piece of belly pan ducting I didn’t know I was missing.
Everyone was super cool and friendly and I wished I could have stayed later, but had reached my thermal limit. It was around 95°F when I left at 11:30 and was around 100°F when I got home at noon. The forecast for today is 110°F which is not fair to spring on PNW natives! I was sweating the drive home and not just because it was hot; I didn’t know how the van would handle the heat. Again, I had an eye on the temp gauge and to my surprise it only got to a little past the halfway point. Not bad for the original radiator.

As usual, I was busy looking at stuff and talking to people and failed to take many photos. The organizers usually compile photos and videos to put on Youtube, so look for it there in a bit.
