    Hey everyone!

I've been looking for a first generation Econoline van for about a decade now and the timing was right a few weeks ago.  I'm now the proud new owner of a '64!  The van's a little rough in places but the price was right and I drove it home.  Did the front brakes and bearing last weekend and I have plans to dig into the wiring a bit this next weekend and hopefully get both brake lights working.  I've already picked up a heater which it was missing and a battery box.  Those will need some sanding and painting before I get them installed.

I'm excited to be here, I've been researching like crazy and was happy to see there's a community around the old vans.

No pictures today as it's being stored at a family's shop but I'll have a bunch of pictures up soon!

Welcome... Your last name isn't Lopez is it? If so I watched a couple of your fights.

I live just up the hill from you... I have a 67 Dodge so I can't help you too much with any Ford advice but there is a lot of information available on this forum.

Sounds like you have a great project.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome! Unfortunately still no pictures. I took a look at the rear brakes and the cylinders are leaking. I planned to go for a drive this weekend and snap some glamor shots but no driving until I get that fixed.

Where would be the best subforum for me to start a thread on my somewhat meager and ongoing repairs?

You could start a build thread right here in the E Van General Discussions section or if you just want a place to post progress pictures, you could post them in the Members Gallery in the E Vans Section.

If you've got questions, please just ask...lots of people willing to help any way they can.
