Finally found a replacement /6 for Hoopty over the weekend. Already have the old one out and a bunch of new stuff for the replacement going in. Just getting everything cleaned up, painted and waiting on a few little things. After a long sleep, it sure will be go to drive the old truck again.
A big thanks to BILL Carson on here who reached out to me offering a motor solution. We talked on the phone for a bit and I gotta say.. Good people right there!
The motor that I picked up was out of a 74 Duster which means that I had to have the flywheel machined to the correct index. While the flywheel was in for that, I went ahead and had it resurfaced. Will also be doing new pressure plate, clutch, fuel pump, water pump, Super Six intake with a new 38/38 Weber, pressure regulator, hoses, distributor gear, belt and gaskets etc. Just wanna make sure everything is right and tidy to avoid anything that may interfere with the recovery.
While doing all of this, I've found that there's 2 recoveries taking place here.. Hooptys recovery to the road and the recovery of my A100 soul. It's been too long and had forgotten about how much I enjoy this. Sometimes life just gets in the way...
