The bushing used in the hole that my transmission hangs from in my 62 pickup is worn/deteriorated, and I'd like to replace it. The prior owner said my 6 cylinder 200 ci engine and 3 speed manual transmission are from a Mustang. Here's a picture. Can anyone identify the transmission or bushing, or help point me in the right direction to find a new one?

Re: Transmission hanger bushing
Most people simply replace it with a 63 or a 64 full synchro trans?????????? Only difference in installation is of course the change out the drive shaft,,,,, I am in Van Nuys if your interested,, NO IDEA of where to get gaskets for yours as not many people keep it???? Other wise make one out of gasket sheet material,,,, I use a punch set and a real trick one that has plexi on the top of it so I can see exactly where I am punching holes,, I may have one trans left,,,, a container full of all of them,,,

Re: Transmission hanger bushing
I have a bit of play in the bushing hole with that AC Delco 45G12026 bushing. What's the best way to handle this? Sleeve? Epoxy?

Re: Transmission hanger bushing
Thats a drag,, but then again,, these rigs have had a gazilion pepper tree dummies working on them,,,,,
Someone jacked it up,,,, I love using epoxy on anything that I can get away with, but not sure this is one of those times?? Nothing better than a tight interference fit,,,, perhaps try looking for a bushing with a larger od?? maybe even a bearing seal saver sleeve???? They are pricey but maybe fix the issue ???
Try googling up some parts numbers for size charts,,,,,

Re: Transmission hanger bushing
Now that I see it,, why dont you dump that crash box right now?????? Its a non 1st gear synchro and worst of all it has the weaker sliding yoke stuff!!!!!!! End all the issues and put in a 63 to 64 3 spd and change the drive shaft to match????????????? No worries about that tail stock, no worries about no synchro, no worries with the weaker transmission, no worries with the weaker out put yoke....
Just sayin,,,,

Perfect, I've been looking for a bushing as well. I'll give this a try
