Nothing fancy. Just needs a nicer air cleaner.

I dunno AC. I think that air cleaner would be good cleaned up, painted, then run an intake hose somewhere to suck cold(cooler) air. As with all my input, it's just my 2 cents.

Re: Worth saving?
Nice work and I really like the fan shroud! Congrats on the motor and I hope it's running well for you! So glad you decided to keep the van because it sounded like it was well worth saving. These vans are so much fun to drive I think you'll be thrilled that you kept it. Now just enjoy the heck out of it!

Re: Worth saving?
Latest pictures not showing up for me, but the one on posted on May 4 looks great! What is the insulation material on the doghouse lid and how is it attached?

Re: Worth saving?
Thermo Tec Heat barrier. Comes with the adhesive on one side. Feels a little on the thin side, but I haven’t really noticed the doghouse heat, so I guess it’s working. The24”x48 size covered the length of the housing cover, but fell a bit short on the sides. I used 2” aluminum tape to clean up the edges and make sure the edges stuck on well. So far so good, but the my engine temps are relatively low compared to the old engine. Haven’t had temps beyond 150 degrees.

Re: Worth saving?
You might consider moving the fuel filter to down by the tank, or at least a metal one. The plastic ones sometime crack and dump fuel down on the exhaust manifold.
Beautiful work, the new engine looks great.

Re: Worth saving?
I’ll get that filter swapped out before my next outing. Thanks for the heads up.
