Hi I'm new to the forum, and I've always really wanted a 1st generation van , looking for a fixer upper, trying to find close to original for the drivetrain and I'm not against doing some body work, I live in Ocala Florida and I'm sorry if I messed up this post in any way lol just new and really hoping to find a van and join the club

Welcome to the group Shelby. Many helpful people here with much experience to share. What kind of Econoline are you looking for ? Any preference between windows, no windows, long or short ? Good luck in your search

Re: Wtb 61-67 van
Wow it is beautiful I would love to have it, it's just a little out of my price range, but well worth the money, I want to find like a barn find or a fixer upper that I can make into the quality and beauty he put into that van

Just trying to get a feel for what you're looking for but here's one I saw this morning...Looks pretty solid from the pics.

Re: Wtb 61-67 van
That's more up my alley, and definitely something I would be interested in I would just have to check into shipping to Florida, I'm kinda looking to spend like 1500 total to get it here, and I understand I don't expect much for that, I just want a solid platform to start from

Re: Wtb 61-67 van
Maverick, now we're getting down to brass tax...that's what we need, more information. I'll keep my eyes open for something closer to Florida so the shipping won't be as bad. The more information we have, the better we can try to come up with solutions!

Maverick,
I do understand what you mean and that is what I am working on myself(I expect others here are doing the same). I would like to point out that if you get one and take it to that level, you will likely have more than that in it. That is not a bad thing if you enjoy wrenching, learning and wrenching again. It seems like everything costs more and takes longer than you estimate. I don't want to discourage you, but if your dreams are of owning and driving instead of cleaning, painting and fixing, you might reconsider. I love working on my Epup and wish I had more time(and an air conditioned garage) to work on it. I'm sure if someone had told me this before I got mine, I would've still done it the way I'm doing it. This is all just my opinion, though. I'll still be glad to keep an eye open for you.
Jim

Re: Wtb 61-67 van
I really appreciate the advice and completely understand where your coming from, and I'm definitely not completely against saving up and buying a restored one, but I feel like I'm at the point where I want One I can make my own little twist and all too it, and I think as long as I don't try and get carried away which lets face it we all do lol my main agenda would be to get it running and driving and be able to enjoy cruising it while doing things here and there to put it where I want it, to be honest I even like a good patina look if I find one that's not too rusty I may skip the body work and clear coat it, but again thank you for your advice and help In searching I will keep all this in mind in my searches.
