260? Yeah, maybe just a scosche hot Hope the engines ok after running that low oil pressure. My van runs 45 @ idle and maxes out around 60psi. But I think Ford and GM had different theories about proper oil pressure. I seem to remember 10-45psi idle to revved is 'good' in a Chevy. 0-5 @ idle probably not so good though lol. Oil does a lot of cooling to so that could explain your extra heat.

there was a bit of pressure at speed otherwise i would have shut it off. Its fine now, gets about 25 psi at idle and 50 at speed. The thermostat was the most of the problem but it was time to do some maintenance anyway.
It got a high volume oil pump. fresh oil and filter, new oil pan , a bunch of gaskets a pressure sender switch that shuts the fuel pump when the engine stops. chemical flush the the cooling system all new coolant and thermostat. Runs great now and no leaks.
