New Pup owner, first project will be low profile tires and wheels.

Looking for any feedback on what folks have, heard will / wont work.

Later, brake conversion and gentle lowering in the plan so everything has to work together.

Shoot, was hoping for some comments on what tire & wheel combinations are working.

I did find an old post where the owner stated he had installed P215/60-15s with a 15x7 wheel with 4" backspace on the front.

A 225/40-18 is a bit smaller dia so that is a good starting point.

I have some 18x8" rims I'm going to try, but the offset puts the inside edge 1.5 further inboard which I suspect is going to be an issue.

Not many aftermarket rims with zero to low offset out there!

Ok, I'll spill what little I know.  I'm currently running four Lincoln Town Car wheels (Got a heck of a deal on them and they don't look half bad.) 15"X6.5".  The reason I didn't post was I couldn't remember the tire size and I keep forgetting to check.  I believe they are 215/60-15.  They are great all around except the drivers' front rubs the drag link at full right lock.  That's not too big of an issue since these things have a small turning radius, you can just adjust the stop screw.  With my current suspension and of sag of it, I couldn't run a wider tire up front.  I could, however run a wider one out back.  I have a local tire shop that will let me "buy/borrow" used tires so when I get to that point, I can experiment.  My stock "steelies" won't run on most disc brakes because of the weld flange.  The discs they would run on would be small.  That's it, what little I know.  If you're patient, someone with more knowledge will chime in.  Don't give up on us yet!Max tire/wheel sizes Resize11

Here is a pic of it with 16" white wagon wheels(off my hay buggy).

I knew better. Correction, my tires are 205/65R15. As far as I can tell, my suspension is stock but has some "sag". I'm sure your results will vary.

The prior owner of my 62 pickup installed new American racing wheels with 245/50R 16 rear tires and 205/50ZR 16 front tires. Here's a pic:

I have found the upper limit for a stock set up.

Tried on a wheel/tire from a 2013 Camaro that I used to have. Figured the tire was too big but not sure about the rim with the 35mm offset.

Looks like the rim is ok, was surprised that it cleared the shock and drag link (in static).

Need to go back and look at my numbers but this is good, love the look!

The rims look nice on your truck! I've been considering something myself, but keeping the originals too for swapping out occasionally. Thanks for the info
