    Hello All!

Very long time lurker here, even years before I bought my 1966 Econoline, pictured as my avatar. 170 3 spd. Got it about 6 months ago, since then been spending a lot of time and money. Honeymoon is over but still having fun, I celebrate the milestones!

       Work Iv’e done:
Replace gas tank vent hose (was leaking while the flatbed was tilting it back down)
Installed shorter rear shocks (truck was lowered and sitting on a compressed shock, yes for real)
Increased travel in front bump stops (truck was lowered and was sitting on bump stops)
Installed a Daytona carb (very happy with that)
Installed an HEI ignition (very very happy with that)
Fabricated a heat shield and installed it on my headers  (could fry an egg on the passenger side dog house, still planning on lining the dog house with a stick on heat shield)
Removed a bunch of surface rust from the roof. (A body man I am not)
Wrapped my starter with a heat shield blanket (nice and cozy)
Replaced starter cable (it looks so red)
Installed an electric fan (that mechanical fan looked medieval)
Right now my steering box has been sent off for rebuilding. (had some play in it, could not adjust it out)

Local to Charlotte NC, shout out to anyone else in the Carolinas!
    regards

Welcome waxman and Congrats on your van! Sounds like you've already taken the bull by the horns. I'm sure you've probably seen how helpful people are on this site. Can't wait to see progress pics of your new van.

Thanks all for the warm welcome.

To answer the question, did I get my van lowered? yes it came that way. Not sure on how he did it (not much communication) but I believe he remove one leaf member and possibly had them de-arched. I am counting 5 leaf members up front, can someone chime in with how many members are on a stock set up?
    Thanks

    I also have a 66 so here's a couple of pics;

Not sure if you count the top bar or the short leaf at the bottom but if you count both of those, there would be 7. Oh well, just compare yours with the pic. Hope this helps!

Yes that helps a great deal, so the previous owner removed two leaf segments. Might need to add one more back. Thanks for the pics!
