It's that time of the year where you can't leave anything in plain site in your vehicle. I had a small box of business forms I was going to deliver to a customer sitting on the front seat of my truck yesterday. In broad daylight some ahole thought it was something of value and tried to break in using a screwdriver on my door locks, busting them both. He failed thankfully but the new locks and re-keying cost more than the contents of the freakin box! I should have known better. So just thought I'd vent and warn others so it doesn't happen to them. Tis the season to be jolly?

Re: Damn Holiday thief's
Sorry to hear that, Richie...Unfortunately, there are lots of desperate people near the Holidays. At least they didn't steal the van itself!

Re: Damn Holiday thief's
That sucks! When we were in Hawaii we were told to leave the rental car unlocked because of thieves, it was raining so we put the windows up and the stupid ahole who broke into the car didn't try the handle before he broke out the door lock and pried open the unlocked glovebox to get at the trunk button. of course there was nothing in the car and we had to pay for the damage.
I wondered if those guys work for the rental company?

Re: Damn Holiday thief's
I have had several convertibles and never locked them for fear the thieves would cut my top. anything they could of stole was cheaper than a new top.

You are right Russell, they always cause more damage to the vehicle. I took everything out of it including my loose change and will leave it open from now on.

Re: Damn Holiday thief's
Sorry to hear about those thieves! Bastards.
I used to take my old 4Runner to the bike trail and go biking. After a couple of people where "hit" with broken windows and theft, I started leaving my doors open and window down. Sure as shit someone went through it one day...but there was nothing to steal and luckily they didn't do any damage.

I have caught more thieves than I can count over the years. It's only going to get worse!
