hi gang, i have a duster that im re buliding, that is were the 340 comes from. i was going to put it in the van. we got it fired up sat. this 340 is going to RUN. 501 cam, 7000rpm motor. im going to finish the dust 1st, then the van.{ i had to put the word van in here someware, this is a van site. l.o.l.} now the delema, van motor. i have 440"s 400"s 383"S and 318. big blocks are a lota fun/work, could hop up 318. dont know yet. anyway, thats were im at. still looking at the site every day at ALL the cool vans.

I guess my first question is how you plan on using it ? If you plan on making it a driver than I would build a nice streetable small block. If you are building a show or an all out beast than there is nothing like a big block.I think your plans on it's use ,will dictate which motor to use.

A good thing about the 383, ya wouldnt have to do much more than a mild cam and a set of headers to make that Van talk.

Well if it's going to be a "Show-Truck" then it really doesn't matter what you put in it. Everything you listed will work as long as it's solid and clean.
