L600 project
I just picked up an old Dodge L600. Im planning on building a car hauler, maybe a rollback depending on what I can come up with. I havent had time to look it over real good but I do know of a few parts Im going to need. I was wondering if the A100 doors are the same? I do know it will need all the rubber seals. Well, time to embark on another project, along with the two Econolines, and a 40 Willys.

Re: L600 project
Those are really cool! I'm sure one of the Mopar guys will chime in. The doors certainly look the same but I couldn't tell you for sure. That would make a sharp looking car hauler. Good luck with this project, as well as the others. I'm looking forward to watching this one!

That is really cool, I've never seen one before. Why does it have the little door under the windshield?

The handle under the windshield is to grab on to , so you can tilt the cab forward. To gain access to the engine....Tilt CabRussell wrote:That is really cool, I've never seen one before. Why does it have the little door under the windshield?

Re: L600 project
I picked up a couple parts catalogs for the L series and A series, and the part numbers for the door shell is the same. Most of the panels, all the glass and weatherstripping is interchangeable. This will make restoration a bit easier.jkr wrote:doors are different. wider at the bottom.

Re: L600 project
No progress as of yet. Ive been looking for a bigger building for my shop. Plus, with all of my customers cars I havent had time. Also been looking for a chassis and drive train to make a ramp truck or a rolloff. This one is a little down on the list anyway. But as soon as I get going on it Ill get some pictures up.

Re: L600 project
this was recently featured in Canadian Hot Rodding magazine. issue from oct/nov 2017. the owner Chris Carlson from British Columbia Canada built it. although a duramax for power he used a frame from a cube van and reworked both ends but left the drivetrain in tact in the frame rails. the photo was snapped in my home province of P.E.I. while on a cross Canada tour so it works well. I don't have contact info for him but possibly a search of the magazine might get you more info on the build.

Re: L600 project
the side pic above this post shows how wide the doors are at the bottom. sorry but the doors are different. before you spend money on a-series doors get a measuring tape out. 6-8 inches wider at the bottom.

Re: L600 project
I dont need the bottom section, I need the upper half and the window frame, from the Dodge emblem up. Both of my doors are caved in and bent.
