by It is with a heavy heart that I announce the loss of another site member and true Vanner. I hadn't seen any responses from Matt on this site so I sent a private message to him last week. This morning, his wife, Freche responded to the message and told me that Matt had a massive heart attack on June 5th and passed. I know that Matt helped many on this site with questions about their vans. He was very knowledgeable and was very willing to pass that on to people here. Although I never met him, he made me feel like a friend and for that, I'm eternally grateful.
Matt had the true Vanner spirit which all of us here share. It's this passion for these vans that makes us like a family. I know that Matt is probably up there with Chris (G-Man) talking about the Fun they had working on their vans and the many friends they left behind to carry on their legacy. I told his wife that he will truly be missed here. She said he had put the engine and tranny back in his 2nd Gen and I told her that if she wanted me to list it here, to send me the information, pictures and contact info.
Once again we have lost a friend and fellow Vanner. As Matt always said, "Keep on Vannin" !!!
