Got a GREAT deal on a professionally built 383 that someone never installed and sat for 20 years. Having a mechanic/friend go through it. Perfect condition but a few upgrades like a better cam, valve springs, timing gears and chain, gaskets, etc. Taking pics of the build and will post soon. Too busy with Baker's 2016 to post yet. I'll have engine pics, swap pics, and finished pics. And my 350 will be for sale once the swap is complete if anyone nearby is interested.

Re: Swapping out my 350 for a 383!
The 383 is in! Sounds awesome! Having a few more things done while it's in the shop like: going two sizes small on the front tires (2" narrower and 2" lower); lowering the back 1" to balance off the front tires; having the exhausts going straight back instead of dumping out the sides. My mechanic also cleaned up all the wiring, made adjustments, etc. As soon as I have time I'll post some pics. May be a week or so still since I'm, fortunately, swamped with work.

The 383 is a 350 Chevy motor bored to 383, balanced, and blueprinted. Not on a dyno yet but should be just over 400hp. It sounds AWESOME! Haven't driven it yet. Should be done this week.

69A100 (and billski), the 383 is a reference to a common chevy stroker built from a 350 block (.030 over bore) and a 400 crank.
