Changed diff gears Empty Changed diff gears

I changed out my rear end center section yesterday. I had a set of 3.23's and replaced them with a set of 2.76's. On the road test I dropped 250 RPM at 60mph. Makes driving more enjoyable .
In my younger years I would have never done this. Back then a set of 2.76's would just not do! In my racing days my 4.56's were almost not big enough. (but 4.88 was to much)
I like the 2.76's . As close to overdrive as I can afford to do. Hoping that the gear change will help my gas mileage also. Rolling Eyes

Nice! I've got 3.55s in mine with a 3 spd. Have another rear as a spare with 3.90s from a auto truck... Can't imagine sticking that in there. Wooden!

it's more like maturity has set in. let the mrs know. I like my 2:73's since the day they went in. saves tires (burnouts) and money, fuel economy. and you can cruise at 70 mph and hear the rice burners doing 10,000 rpm and strugglin trying to go by....

What did you do about the speedometer error with the gear ratio change?
