Post by wacko Tue May 05, 2009 8:58 am

    Hey,

I removed my rear bumper yesterday from my 66 to clean it up and it needs a couple small patches. Are the bumpers Galvinized or anything? Anybody suggest what guage metal to use?

    Thanks

    Just a guess...I'm thinkin around 11/10 ga.I've never mic'd it.
As far as galv.goes,if ya ground back a good area, should'nt be a problem welding a patch in. Just my 2 cents.

No the bumpers are not Galvanized. Safe to weld.
